Our Story

The Pediatric Development Center has grown into a unique place to receive coordinated speech-language, occupational, feeding and physical therapy services, but our founding and our mission are unique as well.

The Pediatric Development Center began with one simple statement, “I have an idea,” during a conversation between two friends – a speech-language pathologist and an occupational therapist – whose shared vision was to raise the standard of therapy in a private practice setting.

Through the years, Amy and Tracy stayed true to their philosophy of play-based practice as the scope of possibility unfolded. In the words of author, Kobi Yamada, What do you do with an idea? You love it, nurture it, allow others to embrace it and let it grow. Staying true to their philosophy and growing to meet changing needs, is the reason the Pediatric Development Center has become the place where everyone (children, families, staff) can discover what is possible.
